Because it natively processes XML and SGML, Xpress 2001 can provide the authors at any time with a formatted view, icons or native tags (or a combination using split or separate windows). Xpress 2001 will use XSL to present the structured information. Its Workspace will instantly reflect the document’s structure providing a smart navigation and editing tool.

The WYSIWYG user interface includes: user definable menus, arbitrary number of levels of undo, drag ‘n drop actions and clipboard operations on contents and structure; multiple documents- and multiple views-user interface; customizable toolbars. Spell-checking belongs to the list of proposed features as well as a highly professional and complete Search/Replace engine.

The support for multilingual documents shows a facility to synchronize documents i.e. enable parallel processing by automatically repeating most of the actions performed on one of the synchronized documents.

vb-script [MS-Word similar] macros and forms will help automate the most complex editing tasks. The user interface can be customized with forms to hide some transactions.

Moreover, additional tools can be integrated in order to:
